With another winter in the Village, so too comes the annual New Zealand Festival of Christmas - a month long celebration of mid-winter joy. Snow, lights, hot chocolate and night markets are hallmarks of the festival, as is a cute (and ever popular) Festival Mascot. This year the Festival theme is A Very Country Christmas being led by quite possibly the cutest Ruru (Morepork) in the land.

To join in the fun, we've created a Ruru Tailor's Pack so the young and young at heart can craft a bespoke wardrobe for Ruru.

Each pack includes paper patterns to create a mask, vest and cape for Ruru, plus a selection of fabrics, trims and buttons - plenty to let the creative juices flow and build an entire wardrobe for your Ruru. Limited only by imagination!!

You can purchase your very own Ruru by visiting Blackwell & Sons in Greytown Village during the New Zealand Festival of Christmas this winter. Ruru Tailor's Packs are available in store at Miss Maude along with a selection of supplies perfect for getting young makers started.
Each pack includes detailed instructions (younger makers may need help with sharp scissors, needle and thread) and you can also follow along the video below:
