Payments & Safety

ONLINE: We accept secure credit card payments via Shopify Payments.   You can also pay with a store gift card or via a New Zealand bank transfer - this option will be given to you during the checkout process.

INSTORE: We accept Visa, Mastercard, Amex, eftpos and cash. 

Yes.  All online payments are processed via Stripe New Zealand Ltd on behalf of Shopify Payments.  Your personal and financial details are securely encrypted to ensure your money and information stays safe.   No financial details are made available to or held by Smith Fabric House Ltd t/a Miss Maude 

In some circumstances, customers will appear to have two charges on their online credit card statement. This occurs within the credit card/banking system and is beyond our control.

In these circumstances one charge will be listed as 'Pending'. This pending amount will not actually charge against your credit card and will be removed from your statement/account automatically after a couple of days. If you find this is not the case, please don't hesitate to get in touch.

Shipping & Delivery

We aim to pack and ship your order within one working day of receiving your order/completed payment.

These times are estimates only and are not guaranteed.  Your parcel may be held up by weather events, customs or other circumstances beyond our control.

Shipping rates are calculate at checkout.

Within New Zealand: Orders over $180 ship free. Other orders: $4.90-$10

Australia: Orders over $180 ship free. Other orders: $10-$16

Worldwide: Shipping is calculated at checkout. This varies between countries - we try to pass on the best rates we can while using international tracked courier services.

Yes, we ship our products all over the globe.

We are unable to ship large shipments to all countries - if you are outside New Zealand or Australia and would like to order more than six metres of fabric (or equivalent) please contact us before placing your order.

Returns & Refunds

Yes! You can shop online with confidence. We want you to be delighted with what you buy from us.  

We offer a 90 day return policy - please note there are exceptions regarding fabric.

If for any reason, you are not happy with your purchase of non-fabric items you may return them for a full refund or store credit (you choose).  We will refund the amount of your purchase (which includes the shipping cost of your order).  You will, however, be responsible for the cost of return post and packaging and returns must be received within 90 days of delivery.

Please ensure that the goods are returned in their original condition and packaging. Please email before making a return at info@missmaudesewing.co.nz.    

Refunds and returns are not available on sale items.

Refunds will be made via the same method you made your payment for the order.  

Fabric Returns: Please note that fabrics are sold as bespoke items (ie we cut them to your requested size), so we are unable to exchange these if you change your mind.  If colour, weight and texture are important for your purchase, we recommend you order a free sample piece prior to committing to a project length of fabric.  While we do our best to accurately represent the colour of our fabrics, please note that all monitors, screens and devices show colours differently. 

If, however, you receive faulty or damaged fabric, please get in touch and we will gladly arrange a suitable remedy.

Gift Vouchers

Yes we do.  You can order them here

After entering your shipping details at checkout, you will be prompted to enter a 'gift card or discount code'.  Please enter the code on your Gift Voucher - you will have either been sent this via email or as a physical card. 

My Order

Our fabrics are sold in 10cm increments.  Minimum cuts are 0.5m online or 0.3m in store.

In the "ORDER FABRIC" box on each fabric product page, enter your required amount in metres. Click 'ADD TO CART' button.

NOTE: Once you get to the checkout and payment section of the website, your fabric quantity will show as the number of 10cm increments you have ordered. For example, if you have ordered 1.5m, at checkout the quantity will show as 15 (ie 15 x 10cm = 1.5m).
We will cut your order as one continuous piece.

Yes! We offer up to three free samples with every order.

Simply add this product to to your cart, then list the three samples you would like in the 'Add Order Note' box at the bottom of the  Shopping Cart page when you checkout.  

Limit to 3 free samples, if you require more, please add them through each product page for a small $1.50 charge per sample. 

On each fabric product page simply click the 'ADD SAMPLE' button. One sample will be added to your cart.

Samples are approx 6cm x 12cm

Our webbings and trims are priced and sold per metre.  For example, if you would like to order two metres of trim or webbing, enter '2' in the quantity box.   We will cut a continuous piece of two metres for you.

Sorry, we do not offer a yarn holding service, so please purchase enough to complete your project. 

If you have placed an order and we have not processed it yet, we may be able to make changes for you.

If we have already cut fabric for your order, we are unable to make changes to this.

If you'd like to add or swap out anything else in your order, we can do so. We will send you payment details where additional payment is required.

If a refund is applicable, we will do so via the same way you paid, less a small $1 processing fee.

We do our best to identify and combine orders where we can. Please feel free to email us at info@missmaudesewing.co.nz to let us know if you have orders to combine into one shipping parcel.

Where we can, we will combine orders and refund any overpaid shipping, less a small $1 processing fee. This service is not guaranteed and sometimes not possible - but we will do our best!

We occasionally have special products that we open up for pre-order to ensure you don't miss out.

Please note that any items ordered with a pre-order product will be held and all items will be shipped together on the release date. 

If you are wanting an item quickly, we would recommend placing a separate order.
