This elastic tape is the ultimate shirring hack! Simply sew it to the reverse side of your fabric using standard thread then set with a light steam. Too easy!
Quality shirring elastic is held together in a soft mesh, sew between the elastic cords.
37mm wide, 11 cords of elastic. When sewing, we recommend cutting a little more than you need (approx 10cm), this gives you something to hold while stretching the elastic as you sew.
Giving the elastic a light steam after sewing will contract it by approx 8-10% and will further define the gathers/shirring.
