Miss Maude Paihamu 4ply - Merino Possum Yarn, Berry
PH4-BRY03
New Zealand Merino Wool + Possum Fur
400m | Fingering/4ply
Berry - a soft blue based pink. The natural heather of the yarn shows through, giving depth and interest. Hand dyed yarn.
Paihamu is a delightfully squishy, New Zealand possum fur and merino wool. Satisfyingly sustainable, curiously warm (possum fur never freezes...just like a polar bear!), silky soft and lusciously light.
With every purchase you will receive a free Hootenanny Cowl knitting pattern. Perfect for keeping the chill at bay while imbibing at sunset, burning a calorie or three cycling the country lanes, partaking of cucumber sandwiches in the park, or simply strolling the Village. All the while looking fabulous!
One skein will knit two short, or one long cowl.
This yarn is ever so soft, plump and squishy with a light haze - resulting in light but incredibly warm knits. It's a little like wearing a cloud....we imagine! The yarn is woollen spun, giving it plenty of bulk which means that you can use this yarn to knit your favourite 4ply, 5ply or light 8ply knitting pattern.
Possum Fur : Possums are an introduced species to New Zealand and as such are now a declared pest due to them causing so much devastation and destruction to our native forests, animal and bird populations. The creation of this yarn contributes to the ongoing efforts to battle this national pest.
Knitting with hand dyed yarns: as each skein will vary slightly in colour, we recommend that if working with multiple skeins in the same colour way that you work two skeins at the same time. ie working one or two rows/rounds with one skein, then swapping to the other. This will reduce the chance of obvious pooling of colour.
