The Novice Cardigan Junior – Mohair Edition is worked from the top down. This means that you begin by working the ribbed neck edge, then you work the yoke, then the body and finally the sleeves. The cardigan is worked in stockinette stitch, while the edges are worked in rib. The Novice Cardigan Junior – Mohair Edition has a round yoke, which is shaped by working 4 sets of increases evenly distributed along the yoke.

You will also need 8 (8) 8 (9) 9 buttons (13-15 mm)

Yarn: 2ply/Lace

Meterage:  150 (150) 175 (175-200) 200 g Silk Mohair Yarn (25 g = 210 m) 
Note: Two strands of yarn are held together throughout. The given yardage is the total yardage needed. 

Size: 6-7 (7-8) 8-10 (10-12) 12-14 years

Chest circumference: 77 (80) 83 (87) 90 cm

Needles: Begin by working a swatch to determine which needle size you need to achieve the correct gauge. Remember to wash your swatch before measuring the gauge

Circular needles: 3.5 mm [US4] and 4 mm [US6] / 80 cm 

Double-pointed needles: 3.5 mm [US4] and 4 mm [US6] unless the Magic Loop technique is used

Gauge: 21 stitches x 28 rows = 10 x 10 cm in stockinette stitch on 4 mm [US6] needles with 2 strands of silk mohair held together
