The Beginner’s Jacket is worked back and forth in garter stitch from the top down. first the yoke is worked, then the body and then the sleeves. The sleeves are also worked back and forth and then sewn together along the inside at the end.
A great beginner garment project with clear instructions and video tutorials.
Can be knit in either a 5ply or 8ply yarn. Good options include Tacama Organic Cotton Alpaca , Prosper DK Merino and Chaska Muhu Baby Alpaca

Needles: Begin by working a swatch to determine which needle size you need to achieve the correct gauge. Remember to wash your swatch before measuring the gauge
4 mm [US6] / 80 cm circular needles
(straight needles can be used for the sleeves if preferred)

and a darning needle.
