Looking for a lightning-quick, fun knit? This adorable baby bonnet, designed to be a companion piece for the Entrechat shrug, is as practical as it is sweet. Its interesting, fun construction and distinctive textured pattern in the front will make you want to make one in every colour
This bonnet is knit seamlessly. The front of the bonnet is knit flat, featuring an easy textured stitch; the crown is knit in the round after the back neck is finished by a three-needle bind off.
An applied I-cord and I-cord ties are worked on the neck portion, then an applied I-cord is worked around the front to cinch in the fit around the face.

Yarn: Worsted Weight
Meterage: Approximately 70 (90, 100) yds or 64 (82, 101) meters of worsted weight yarn.
Size: 0-3mo (3-12mo, 12-24mo)
For head circumference up to: 40.5 (46, 48) cm.
Finished bonnet is approximately 26.5 (30.5, 32.5) cm around face measured from base of jaw.
Bonnet depth is: 14 (16, 18) cm.
Needles:
US 8 or 5mm circular needle (or size needed to match stockinette stitch gauge)
US 6 or 4mm circular needle (or size needed to match garter stitch gauge)
1 set of dpns matching smaller needle size
Notions: 2 stitch markers; tapestry needle
Gauge: 18 sts x 26 rows = 4 inches or 10cm in stockinette stitch using larger needles, after blocking
20 sts x 36 rows (i.e. 18 garter ridges) = 4 inches or 10cm in garter stitch using smaller needles, after blocking
Please adjust your needle size if needed to achieve gauge.
