The Honey Moss shawl combines squishy worsted weight wool with big honeycomb cables that transition into a magnified Horseshoe lace. Once finished it begs to be wrapped up in!
We have it in the store knit up in stunning Union Fibre Merino Linen Worsted. It is so snuggly and we're all in love! Check out the photos of Bonnie (long dark hair, grey shawl) wrapped up in it!
This shawl is knit sideways, increasing along one edge to create an asymmetrical shawl. The first half of the shawl is cables, which then give way to lace once we have built up a larger stitch count.
Yarn: Worsted Weight
Meterage: Worsted Weight Merino/Linen Blend 500g / 900 m
Finished Measurements: Wingspan - 190.5 cm, Depth - 109 cm
Needles:
Larger Needle (for the cable portion of the shawl): Size US 9/5.5 mm - 80 cm circular
Smaller Needle (for the lace portion of the shawl): Size US 8/5 mm - 80 cm circular
(Use the needle size you need to achieve gauge.)
Gauge:
24 sts & 20 rows = 4”/10 cm
Measured over cable stitch using Cable Fabric Needle, after blocking.
18 sts & 22 rows = 4”/10 cm
Measured over lace stitch using Lace Fabric Needle, after blocking.
Level: intermediate - skilled
